Many people have asked me about network marketing (otherwise known as multi-level marketing, direct selling, relationship marketing, referral marketing, etc.). I have only recently begun my own journey into this arena for supplemental income streams, joining 14 million other people in the United States. Many of these are making full-time incomes once they superseded the income from their previous careers. Network marketing gives you the possibility of residual income, which continues to flow in whether you’re working or not, without any income limits.
More people are buying products through direct sales than ever before, and more are entering their own business through such companies. Network marketing sales in the United States has more than doubled in the last decade to over $30 billion dollars – a 91% increase! All predictions from the economic and financial experts indicate that this trend will only continue to grow exponentially.
A lot has changed in the industry in recent years, especially with the companies who have moved away from the more traditional, first-wave methods of network marketing that frankly gave the industry the negative image many still perceive today. Such negatives in the past included stockpiling inventory of products in your garage, the prices being noticeably higher than what you could buy them for at your local discount store, or losing friends because you were having to pitch your product to the wrong people. Also, I didn’t like some of the deceptive tactics that were used on me in order to get me recruited into a particular business. These are the main reasons I never joined any network marketing company for most of my life.
Well, things are different now, if you find the right company with the right plan, and we can help you with that. Plus, I know too many people who are making six- and even seven-digit annual incomes in network marketing, with more achieving this every day, without the inventory, high prices, shipping hassles, endless paperwork, and lost friends. Even some of the large corporations, such as Time Warner or Citigroup, have launched their own direct selling divisions. Fortune magazine called direct selling “the best-kept secret of the business world.”
Robert Kiyosaki, financial educator and author of the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series, says, “Direct selling gives people the opportunity, with very low risk and very low financial commitment, to build their own income-generating assets and acquire great wealth.” Kiyosaki even has a book in his series called The Business School, which is devoted entirely to network marketing. Kiyosaki states, “If I had to do it all over again, I would start with a network marketing business.”
David Bach, financial planning expert and author of the Finish Rich series, says, “The beauty of direct selling is that it’s all done for you. You don’t have to create a business plan. You don’t have to create a product. The only thing you need to do is find a reputable company, one that you trust, that offers a product or service you believe in and can get passionate about.”
If you have read any EPIC educational materials, you know that starting your own business is paramount to achieving wealth rather than working for someone else because you are making yourself wealthy rather than that someone else. You can do this either through starting your own brick-and-mortar type establishment, or buying a franchise, or through network marketing.
Network marketing offers everyone the same opportunity, regardless of background and personality, and provides a simple way for anyone to start his/her own business, without extensive franchise fees and without the sometimes time-consuming and capital-intensive methods of the traditional start-up business model. All the tools, systems, and training are provided for you (with the reputable companies, at least). You are buying into and becoming a part of an existing system that has already been built for you.
And, no, multi-level marketing is NOT a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal. One huge difference between pyramid schemes and legitimate network marketing is that pyramid schemes can land you in jail.
I have researched a number of network marketing companies, and I’m particular about what companies I get involved in and, in turn, can recommend to others.
